Etz Chaim, Hebrew for "tree of life", is figuratively applied to the Torah itself. Etz Chaim is also used to describe each of the wooden poles to which the parchment of a Sefer Torah is attached.
The Shofar
The Shofar is the newsletter of Congregation House of Israel, published monthly and distributed free to members, prospective members, local clergy and other interested parties. Submissions are due the 15th of the previous month.
PDF versions of previous editions are available for download from the links below. The PDF format requires the use of Adobe Reader, available for download free of charge from the Adobe website.
